I love this beach bag! I used it every day on holiday and I’m already looking forward to summer, when I can take it with me to the beach and on day trips.
The bag was a cooperation project with my favorite fabric shop Selfmade, where I also have the fabrics from. The pattern is based on their Freebie Pattern DIY7003 which you can find here:

I made some changes to the sewing pattern (smaller height) as well as a lining and an inner- and an outer pocket, a key fob and a quilted layer. I have described the steps in the instruction file so you can make the exact same version if you like :)

Materials

You need a certain amount of basic equipment for all sewing projects. This usually consists of

Sewing machine
Yarn in the matching color
Fabric scissors
Thread scissors
Tailor's chalk
Printer to print out the pattern, ruler to check the measurements and a pair of scissors.

You also need the following materials specifically for this project:

Fabric choice

In general, you are quite free in the choice of fabric. That's the beauty of sewing your own garment. But since fabrics differ in strength, elasticity, stiffness, and many other properties, here are a few fabrics with which the garment works particularly well:

Cotton
Velvet
Cord
Viscose
Linen
